Weird and wonderful with stunning performances from the cast – a real multi-layered ensemble treat. And with a Mexican director (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu – Babel, Biutiful) and Canadian financing, Birdman presents a very different point of view from mainstream US movies. The transitions between states of mind were an intriguing blend of the surreal and theatrical.
A totally convincing vision. Refreshingly original and deservedly in the running for a swag of Oscars.
Nominated for 9 Oscars in 2015, won 4 including best film, director and original screenplay.
