’13 Minutes’

13MinutesSMALL13 Minutes is the telling of the true story of the attempt by Georg Elser to assassinate Hitler in Munich in November 1939. Imprisonment and the time leading up to the attempt is the focus.

Straightforward, no frills, it’s something of a plodder. But the story the film is revealing does hold interest. It’s not, however, in the same league as director Oliver Hirschbiegel’s earlier foray into German history, the superb Oscar-nominated Downfall.
