Eminently watchable if instantly forgettable, Those Who Wish Me Dead is a well-crafted adventure thriller set in the wilds of Montana. Hired assassins looks to silence the revealing of widespread financial corruption in Florida.
As leading firefighter Hannah (Angelina Jolie – Eternals, Salt) prepares for the onset of the fire season, young Connor (Finn Little – Storm Boy, TV’s Yellowstone) survives pursuit by Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Favourite) and Aiden Gillen (Bohemian Rhapsody, TV’s Game of Thrones). With fire raging uncontrollably around them, Hannah, Connor, the killers and more drawn into the fray find themselves in a deadly battle for survival.
It’s an old-fashioned muscular adventure yarn from director Taylor Sheridan (Wind River, TV’s Yellowstone) with enough twists to keep you involved.
