‘The Wolfpack’

the-wolfpack-posterAs an observational documentary, The Wolfpack is fascinating – telling the story of the six likeable Angulo brothers locked up by their parents in an apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. As they grow older, the boys entertain themselves enacting their favourite films in their entirety.

But as an analytical documentary, The Wolfpack fails. There’s no indication of how filmmaker Crystal Moselle reached the family and how we got to where we are – that’s reliant on reading post-screening articles. And there remains a whole gamut of unanswered questions.
