In a world where all thoughts are heard if not controlled and no women exist, Todd (Tom Holland – Spiderman: Homecoming, The Impossible) finds it difficult to navigate the rough, frontier-like lifestyle headed by Mayor Prentiss (Mads Mikkelson – Another Round, The Hunt). When Viola (Daisy Ridley – Star Wars, Ophelia) crash lands on his planet, all hell breaks loose as Todd looks to protect her – and find out what really happened to the women.
Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow), Chaos Walking is surprisingly low key as Tom looks to unlock the planet’s secrets. An adaptation of the first in a YA science fiction trilogy of the same name, this particular narrative, in spite of a starry cast, never significantly sparks into life.
