Sometimes the questions have to be asked. Why are such films made and why do people pay to watch them?
Friends since high school Mia (Tiffany Haddish – Girls Trip, Night School) and Mel (Rose Byrne – Spy, Irresistible) form a cosmetics company, M&M. It’s not doing so well as Mia expects a lavish lifestyle to Mel’s more cautious approach. Then uber successful Salma Hayak (Frida, Savages) swoops to purchase the company – and delights in setting the two friends against each other.
It’s crass, silly, predictable – and the deadliest sin of all for a comedy: it just ain’t funny! Which is a pity as Haddish deserves so much better. Go watch paint dry – far more entertaining!
