‘Like a Boss’

Sometimes the questions have to be asked. Why are such films made and why do people pay to watch them?

Friends since high school, Mia (Tiffany Haddish) and Mel (Rose Byrne) form a cosmetics company, M&M. It’s not doing so well as Mia expects a lavish lifestyle to Mel’s more cautious approach. Then uber successful Salma Hayek swoops to purchase the company – and delights in setting the two friends against each other.

It’s crass, silly, predictable – and the deadliest sin of all for a comedy: it just ain’t funny! Which is a pity as Haddish deserves so much better. Go watch paint dry – far more entertaining!
